The churchyard in St. Day Parish ( Ordnance Survey Grid Reference SW423736) was opened in 1835 and the CIP survey found 947 headstones There is also a small Garden of Rest located within the churchyard. The Church of the Holy Trinity was closed in 1956 (the present parish church is located across the road from the entrance to the churchyard) and the roof dynamited and windows and doors sealed a few years later. In 1998 the Trevithick Trust obtained a long term lease of the old church and it is now open during summer months as a ‘discovery’ centre (details for 2008 have not been seen). During the restoration work, in which some 500 tons of rubble was removed from the interior) the CIP surveyor, Mike Kiernan, acted as site archaeologist and was responsible for recovering 16 plaques, most smashed into many pieces, the font, also in many pieces and which had been desecrated before suffering explosion damage, was also recovered. These were carefully pieced together and the transcripts included within this survey.

The parish War Memorial is located within the village at the clock tower. The area was a strong Methodist centre and the world famed Gwennap Pit and nearby museum are located within the parish.
